Congrats to NZ artist Savage (Dawnraid Music) who has just signed a deal in the US with Universal Republic via Dawnraid Music.
The deal comes off the back of Savage's single "Swing" catching a word-of-mouth buzz in the US, riding up the iTunes Hip Hop Charts (currently sitting at #14) after being used in the movie Knocked Up. "Swing" has already sold 100,000 from iTunes alone and the remix featuring Soulja Boy has been serviced to radio this week. So if the right radio programmers pick it up, I guarantee we'll be seeing it impacting the Urban Top 40 within the next month or so.
