SMASHPROOF - "ITS FRIDAY" RADIO / CHART NEWS

Kirk from MTC has just posted some good news regarding the Smashproof single I produced, "Its Friday":

"Its Friday" moved up +26 spots from 83 - 57 this week on the NZ Airplay Chart. While it currently sits at #24 on the RIANZ Top 40 Singles Chart.

SMASHPROOF - IT'S FRIDAY DEBUTS @ #19

I now realise the effort that went into getting that picture definitely wasn't worth it, anyhow congrats to the Smashproof boys who have managed to hold the #1 spot for the 10th week in a row, securing the record for the longest consecutive run at #1 by a New Zealand artist ever.

The second single from Smashproof - "It's Friday" - produced by that rad lad Fuego ... debuts at #19, helping to move Smashproof's album The Weekend up three spots this week to #8.

Further congrats go out to J Williams, who's single "Ghetto Flower" has jumped from #10 to #5 this week. I've heard alot of songs from his forthcoming debut album and its sounding great. Hopefully you'll hear a couple of my joints on there also ;)

ALBUM RELEASE: SMASHPROOF - THE WEEKEND

After holding down the #1 NZ Single spot for the last 4 weeks with their lead single Brother, South Auckland lads Smashproof drop their brand new album The Weekend today in NZ on Move The Crowd / Universal.

I can also let you know the next single from the record will be the Fuego produced winner It's Friday, which despite it's overly apt titling to match the concept of the album, is a dark, edgy but almost relieved sounding celebration record that still just works on a loud system with drunken people. As long as its Friday.

This short promo video for the new Smashproof/Fuego monster has been up for a minute on MTC. Big shouts to Tyree, Sid, Deach, Kirk, Aaron and Juse at MTC across the Tasman.

Interesting to note that the first single for the project Brother is sitting nicely at #2 on the NZ iTunes chart and is getting some high profile spins from Semtex among others.
