JB Hifi have notified distributers they will no longer be stocking Physical CD Singles from July 1st, 2009. JB wrote in a memo to Australia record companies:
"The sales for this format have declined steadily over the last 12 months to a level where it no longer makes sense from a business perspective or customer service perspective to continue with the format."
Honestly, when was the last time you bought a CD single? I haven't even bought physical copies of the singles I've produced in the past 5 years.
RIP CD singles.
