Freemasons x Sophie Ellis Bexter - Heartbreak Make Me A Dancer

Been out for a minute now, but it has just started to impact the UK singles chart this week.

I'm digging it, although I have a slight issue with her pronunciation of "Dancer" and "Answer" but I'm sure there are thousands of fans out there that like her just because of her 'accent'.

I DECIDED - UK/EUROPE RELEASE (FREEMASONS MIX)

Weez & I were speculating a couple months back when we first heard the Freemasons mix of Solanges single "I Decided", that it would be the UK, Europe & Australasian version. Turns out it will be the official European release and is being labelled as "I Decided Pt 2".

I think this will be a big summer hit across Europe and hopefully radio picks it up out here.

Dope.

SOLANGE - I DECIDED (VIDEO)

Solange is making some really cool and unexpected music for her new album Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams. The first single from the album is "I Decided" which is a 60's soul inspired joint with a few added electro elements. I really like it. The video features civil rights movement images in the background and is almost an amalgamation of themes from the 60's, 70's & 80's. Quite bizarre.

Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams is in stores August 26.

Although the original of "I Decided" is dope, I think I prefer the Freemasons remix. Check it out below:

FUTURE MUSIC x FREEMASONS

While I'm not a huge fan of Freemasons Alanis Morrisett cover single "Uninvited", I can definitely appreciate the work and musicality that went into its creation.

The good folks at Future Music Magazine have collated some of the clips from their In The Studio DVD footage, the most interesting & educational of these is the Freemasons footage. They basically go into the creative process of making "Uninvited" and give alot of insightful information on EQ, Compression, Mixing, Mastering and Vocal Recording. A must watch for any producer, DJ or fan of Dance music.
