Australian Idol contestant Levi Kereama has died in a fall from a hotel balcony just hours after performing at a Brisbane festival at the weekend.

Brisbane police received calls to an inner-city hotel at 10.30pm on Saturday and arrived to find Kereama, 23, dead after falling from the balcony of his upper-floor room, New Ltd reports.

He had been staying at the hotel after his performance that day at the Parklife Festival at Brisbane's Botanic Gardens.
