I'm a little confused by this Get Em Girls project. Sony Music appear to have spent a considerable amount of money and resources on the song writing and production of the album but are throwing out chump change on the videos.

The worst thing is none of these failed creative choices will fall on the overzealous A&R's, they'll fall on Jessica, cause she's the artist in the spotlight... and then Sony Music Australia will use the old excuse labels have been using for years - "R&B doesn't work in Australia".

There is something awfully off-putting about the way she is lip-syncing in this video.

On a somewhat related note; I don't think there has ever been an album that abused the use of the most played out snare EVER (known to producers as the Trackmasters snare), as much as Jessica Mauboy's Been Waiting.

MAUBOY GETS A #1

Jessica Mauboy scores her first ARIA #1 single with the Taj Jackson penned, Jonas Jeberg & Cutfather produced "Burn". The single has now sold in excess of 35,000 copies.

Danish production duo Jonas Jeberg & Cutfather are responsible for Kylie's "All I See", The Pussycat Dolls "I Hate This Part" and Jordin Sparks' "One Step At A Time", to name a few.

Before partnering with Jeberg, Cutfather produced numerous pop hits including Mark Morrison's "Return Of The Mack"!

Mauboy's debut single "Running Back" is certified 2x platinum (140,000).

HEY! MAJOR LABEL AUSTRALIAN R&B THAT ISN'T STRAIGHT UP ASS! REJOICE!

So, in a rare move of credibility, Sony BMG Australia will be releasing Idol alum Jessica Mauboy's new single Running Back featuring Flo-Rida in the next month. The best part of this story is that the record isn't terrible. And Flo-Rida is apparently even in the video. Who would've thought?
