DANITY KANE = FIN

Alot of people thought Diddy was just hyping the show with all the talk of Danity Kane breaking up on the finale of Making The Band 4. Turns out the talk was true, Danity Kane is now over with Diddy kicking out Aubrey O'Day & D. Woods last night. Whats more interesting is this doesn't just seem to be a PR stunt.

Entertainment Weekly had the chance to speak with Shannon of Danity Kane and it seems they're pretty lost.

Where is D. Woods tonight? Have you talked to her since she was kicked out of the group?

I talked to her on the phone about two days ago. She’s in Europe, where she was asked to host a fashion show and be part of an awards show. We didn’t even know the live finale was going to happen. From what we understood, the meeting we were in [with Puff that you saw on TV] was it.

Damn.

SALES IN / RADIO'S ON

As I've mentioned in previous posts, I've been following Making The Band this season and after Danity Kane taking the #1 spot with their amazing sophomore album Welcome To The Dollhouse, I was unsure if Day26 could have a similar impact, but apparently all the leaked records, TV exposure and their single "Got Me Going" will ensure them a #1 debut album next week.

According to hitsdailydouble.com:

Based on one-day sales from shell-shocked retailers around this Barack Obama-infatuated country of ours, Bad Boy/Atlantic’s Day 26 will likely follow fellow Making the Band grads Danity Kane to #1 on next week’s HITS Album chart.

The N.Y.-based boy band’s self-titled debut is on target to sell between 225-250k, comparable to the 253k scored by Kane’s Welcome to the Dollhouse.

With all that said, the album is pretty strong, definitely nowhere near DK's album but I respect the fact that they delivered a strong r&b album without buying into alot of current trends.

THESE 5 NEED TO STOP!

Although I didn't manage to make a placement on the new Danity Kane album, its still one of my most anticipated albums of '08 and from what i've heard on Making The Band this season, it excites me. As does this picture above!

"Welcome to the Dollhouse" is out March 18th, but I'm sure we'll see the leak early next week. If this little diddy rock is indicative of the albums overall sound, I'm sure you wont be hearing me playing much else for the next month.
