BILLBOARD: SOUND & VISION

Billboard.com put together this dope article on the top 10 producers controlling the music business and airwaves.

"Songwriter Carole Bayer Sager told Time that Martin "brings one of the most extraordinary pop sensibilities to come along in a very long time." Likewise, Simon Cowell told the magazine, "If you've got Max Martin, you have a better chance of having a worldwide hit than with anyone else."

--

When Warner declined to sign Lady Antebellum, Paul Worley left the label and produced the act's self-titled 2008 debut album, which included "I Run to You," the No. 1 country song of 2009 and Grammy winner for best country performance by a duo or group. Worley then produced Lady A's second album, 2010's "Need You Now." It cleaned up at the 2011 Grammys, winning best country album, while its title track-which he co-wrote with the group-took record of the year, song of the year and best country song.

Whoever the A&R is who turned down Lady Antebellum must be suicidal...

VIDEO: ROBYN - DANCING ON MY OWN

Robyn 'Dancing On My Own' (Official Video) from Robyn on Vimeo.

The lead single from Robyn's new one, produced by Kleerup, which will apparently be one of three she releases this year. Three albums. Who does she think she is, 8 Ball & MJG?

While probably not as compelling as the other joints that have leaked, (the one with Diplo and the one with Royksopp are incredible) this is classic Robyn, an over-emotive and victimizing ballad dressed up for radio as only the Swedes know how.

Ole.

BABE MUSIC

Four of my favourite girls did good the last few days.

Erykah's incredible video for Jump Up In The Air And Stay There, where the seemingly odd pairing of her and Wayne all of a sudden starts to make a whole lot of sense in the visual, is above. They should definitely, and probably will, have a baby. Track here. (2dopeboyz).

Robyn x Diplo was a very good idea - No Hassle

Speaking of Robyn, Ellie Goulding acoustically covering her amazing Be Mine with emerging Swedish soul singer Erik Hassle made my night. RCRD LBL has it here

Janelle Monae's Tightrope featuring Big Boi leaked. It's pretty, pretty, pretttyyy great, get it here or don't come here again. Jokes. Kinda.

MAJOR LAZER - STREAMING THEIR ALBUM AND HURTING YOUR EYEBALLS

I know its all cool and bloggy, but I think I kinda like whats going on with this Major Lazer thing, the long awaited club/reggae project from Diplo & Switch. Hold The Line kills (my love for Santi will not end. ever) and what I am hearing of the album so far is a frenetic mash of trancehall riddims and typical elcectic Diplo/Switch production. Something for Fuego to hate and for me to dissect. Yay.

Plus have you seen the artwork? Have you?

Major Lazer is streaming now and is out June 16th.
