JACKING REDONE AND GAGA

History has shown that the trends in music that catch on are generally ones that are easiest to imitate. RedOne's production being no exception, considering the bulk of his sounds used in "Pokerface", "Just Dance", "Fireburning" etc are presets found in ReFX's Nexus VST software.

Germany's Cascada did an incredible job of cashing in on a song that sounded exactly like Gaga already, now its Gaga jack round 2 with "Pyromania". Oh there was also the second single "Fever" that never made it beyond Europe that isn't what you'd call original...

LAGY GAGA SCORES FIFTH #1

From FMQB

Lady Gaga picks up right where she left off in 2009 with her first #1 single of 2010, "Bad Romance." This marks the first time an artist has scored five #1 singles at radio in a row from a debut album.

"Just six months ago 'Bad Romance' was nothing but a dream, a recurring melody, a lyric hidden on a napkin on my tour bus," commented Gaga. "Now it's my fifth #1 record, and a reminder to fans to always follow their dreams. I would like to thank all my beautiful little monsters, radio, and my incredibly supportive team for the most memorable year of my life. To have had such a phenomenal reception to my second album, The Fame Monster, is life-changing. I'm so happy I could die."

"Bad Romance" follows "Just Dance," "Poker Face," "LoveGame" and "Paparazzi" as #1 singles at radio.

For a while now I've been telling my friends who question Gaga's talent that they are watching history in the making.

Hate it or love it, in 20 years time we'll look back on her as a pop music icon. The same way we do with Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, Annie Lennox and so on.

BEYONCE FT LADY GAGA - VIDEO PHONE (REMIX VIDEO)

I don't think I'm alone when I say that I wish Lady Gaga wasn't in this... She just doesn't sound or look right next to Bey in this one.

LADY GAGA x NUDE x BUBBLES x ROLLING STONE

Check out the full article over at Rolling Stone

"Her debut, The Fame, was almost entirely inspired by her relationship with a heavy-metal drummer named Luke, and their breakup profoundly changed Gaga. She tells Hiatt she’s bisexual, but her attraction to women is purely physical. It’s an aspect of her sexuality that makes boyfriends “uncomfortable,” she says. Her sexuality proclivities don’t seem to offend Marilyn Manson, however, who lobbed a series of awful pickup lines at his new friend at our cover shoot."

Hahaha. Classic.

LADY GAGA - EH EH (NOTHING ELSE I CAN SAY) (VIDEO)

I wouldn't normally post a Gaga song, as we're militantly force fed her music here in Australia and any voluntary listening will most likely be regretted once radio catches on, but the 90's europop fan inside me makes me think her latest offering "Eh Eh" might be a little different.

Uber reminiscent of a Ace of Base, "Eh Eh" is produced by Martin Kierszenbaum (Sting, Keane, Feist, T.a.t.u.). Kierszenbaum is also Head of A&R at Interscope and runs the subsidiary label CherryTree Records who Gaga is directly signed to, along with Robyn & Feist.

"Eh Eh" is currently #25 on the ARIA charts.

JUST DANCE HITS #1

Its uber rare that you see a song by a US artist become a huge hit around the world more than two months before it becomes a hit in its country of origin but Lady Gaga's "Just Dance" has done just that, this week finally topping the Billboard Hot Digital Songs after 27 weeks on the chart. Expect Gaga to knock Beyonce's "Single Ladies" out of its #1 Hot100 position next week.

From Paul Grien's Chart Watch
"Just Dance" by Lady GaGa featuring Colby O'Donis sold 419,000 downloads in the last week of 2008. Only one other song has ever sold that many downloads in a one-week period. "Low" by Flo Rida featuring T-Pain sold 467,000 copies one year ago this week.
"Just Dance" debuted atop the Australian ARIA Charts on September 15, 2008 and sold in excess of 140,000. Coincidentally, Gaga's "Poker Face" is currently holding the #1 position on the aforementioned chart. Australia hearts Gaga.

More $$$ for Akon :)

LADY GAGA SELLS 11 MORE COPIES THAN WES CARR

From Undercover News:

2008 Idol winner Wes Carr didn't score a number one record this week, but he came close. "You" missed out by 11 units.

The release of "You" as a CD single increased his sales over the last week. The CD sold 4889 units. Digital sales for "You" were 7499. Total units sold were 12,388.

That wasn’t enough to topple Lady GaGa. "Poker Face" sold 12,399 units across Australia, 11 more than "You".

Wes Carr is an interesting winner for Idol. Previously, Idol contestants were not supposed to have any professional experience. Wes, however, had released two solo albums ‘Rhythm To Fly’ (2006) and ‘Simple Sum’ (2008) as well as the self-titled ‘Tambalane’ album with Silverchair’s Ben Gillies in 2005 before Idol.

I'm surprised almost five thousand people actually paid $6-$9 for the physical CD single. That's outrageous.

VIDEO: BAD BOY SHOWING SIGNS OF ACTUALLY RELEASING A JANELLE MONAE RECORD!

Sure he doesn't have a private jet like we thought he did, but at least Diddy isn't Cherri-Dennis-ing Janelle Monae's promising career. Check the 'Many Moons' clip above.

On a similar note, I can't even tell you how much I love her, with Metropolis - Suite 1 (of a now abandoned 5 suite series) running my iPod last summer.

On a personal note, I bitched out of Lady Gaga last night, and wish I was at Parklife today. What a winner I am.
